This Great Legacy by William Owens is a spirited Grade 2.5 concert march written in honor of John Gibson, co-founder of the Association of Texas Small School Bands. With seamless transitions between 6/8 and 2/4 meters, rich harmonies, and a strong melodic focus, this work offers an excellent opportunity to teach march style and changing meter.
