Description
Inspired by the towering frost giants of Norse mythology, March of the Frost Giants by Randall Standridge brings ancient legend to life in a bold Grade 1.5 concert march. Combining traditional march form with cinematic color, the piece evokes the slow, powerful tread of these mythic beings through strong thematic writing, active percussion, and harmonies that suggest an icy, imposing presence.
The trio features a commanding low brass melody that captures the giants' massive strength before the full ensemble returns with renewed intensity. Part of the composer's Tales from Asgard series, March of the Frost Giants is a dramatic and engaging choice for winter concerts or festival performance.
