Mystical Beasts

Mystical Beasts

By Bryan SanguinitoString Orchestra

Description

Mystical Beasts: Dragons. Unicorns. Phoenixes. Sea monsters. These are just some of the mythical creatures that have captivated the imaginations of humans for centuries. Now, it’s time for your developing orchestra students to captivate their audience with this fast-paced, fantastical composition. Written in E minor with no low 2s, “Mystical Beasts” uses only eighth note scale passages combined with quarter and half notes, while basses stay in first position, middle voices explore the G string, and cellos perform their own invigorating melody in the middle of the piece. Focusing on dynamic changes, pizzicato, and bow lifts, and building to an epic conclusion, this enthralling composition brings the mesmerizing, legendary world of fantasy to life in a new and wondrous way!
